Rubber Compression Moulding Services

Clifton Rubber has been a trusted supplier of rubber compression moulded components since 1973. Compression moulding is one of the oldest and most reliable rubber manufacturing methods, particularly suited to large, heavy-duty parts that need to withstand shock, vibration, and wear in tough environments.

Our UK-based facility is equipped with advanced presses and supported by a full in-house toolroom, enabling us to produce bespoke and standard compression moulded parts with fast turnaround times. We work with a variety of compounds including natural rubber, EPDM, nitrile, silicone, and polyurethane, serving industries such as agriculture, transport, recycling, construction, and many others.

How Does Rubber Compression Moulding Work Step by Step?

  1. Placement – A pre-measured rubber blank is placed into a heated mould cavity.
  2. Compression – The mould closes under high pressure, forcing the rubber to fill the cavity.
  3. Curing – Heat (140–180°C) vulcanises the material.
  4. Opening – The cured part is removed.
  5. Finishing – Flash is trimmed away.
  6. Inspection – Each component is checked against specification.

Compression moulding typically achieves tolerances of ±0.25–0.5mm, making it ideal for robust, durable parts.
